According to Urbaniti Magazine, South Padre Island is more than just a spring break destination.
The island is big on eco tourism and there are numerous places such as to wildlife watch – you can see everything from birds to dolphins to sea turtles. Louie’s Backyard serves up hand-cut steaks, peel and eat shrimp and their famous “Death by Chocolate” cake, all which you can enjoy while sitting on their Gulf front patio. Louie’s is also a hot spot to go after dark.
FishBones Pier and Grill is located right on the Sea Ranch Fishing Pier where you can enjoy some of the best seafood on the island with a great view of the bay. The list goes on and on. Yes folks, South Padre Island have arrived as one of the top destinations in the nation. It wasn’t by any accident but rather by careful design that South Padre Island has arrived.
Through all the trials and tribulations of development, South Padre has survived. Some would say for the worst, others for the best and we all know that is the way it has always been on the Texas coast. Believers and nonbelievers locked in eternal disagreement over a developed South Padre Island or a natural one. The melding ideals of the two groups have transformed South Padre into an Eco-Tourism Mecca unlike any other.
The sunrises, sunsets, the developments and pristine nature areas all rolled into one Spectacular Island. I have seen South Padre grow and I must say it is impressive, visually stunning and beautiful.

South Padre is on the brink of becoming the one most magnificent and appealing destinations in the world. Not by accident but by design. The way it should be. |
