Winter Texan Beach Cleanup

The 10th annual Winter Texan Beach Cleanup is expected to draw hundreds of volunteers to South Padre Island on Feb. 16.
This is one of three seasonal cleanups along the Gulf Coast in which volunteers collect thousands of pounds of debris that has washed ashore. The Adopt-A-Beach Program of the Texas General Land Office coordinates the cleanups.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m., with the cleanup planned from 9 to 11:30 a.m. After the cleanup, volunteers may participate in a short discussion about what was found.
