2006 Lighted Boat Parade

Saturday, December 1st, the Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce hosted their 20th Annual Lighted Boat Parade under skies that mercifully cleared long enough for the parade to complete the route between Port Isabel and South Padre Island.

Spectators were treated to 17 vessels decked out in a variety of holiday themes. Judges at the White Sands location had the challenging task of choosing the top three in each category which were announced at Sunday’s awards ceremony. Winners received cash prizes and prize packages. The Lighted Boat Parade Committee and the Port Isabel

Chamber of Commerce were very pleased with this year’s great turnout and the quality of decorations adorning boats in the commercial, power and sail categories.

A beautiful display and a great way to celebrate the Christmas season in a warm climate.

Who needs snow?
